Xbox One games getting Xbox Series X upgrades Yakuza : Like a Dragon (Smart Delivery).Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 (Smart Delivery). The Outer Worlds / The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon.Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition.Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Smart Delivery). This list includes games slated to come out in November or later, in an attempt to demarcate when Microsoft’s “next generation” will begin. Some multiplatform titles - Resident Evil Village, for example - will be next-gen-only. Games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Cyberpunk 2077, and Marvel ’s Avengers will come to the Xbox One as well as the Xbox Series X the first two of those games will even have Smart Delivery. Multiplatform publishers like Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Capcom, and Square Enix are bringing new games to the Xbox Series X. except that Halo Infinite and Second Extinction : Reclaim Earth will also be sold on Steam. Although these games will work on the previous generation’s hardware, they’ll be “exclusive” to Xbox and Windows.

This next chunk of games will launch on the Xbox Series X as well as the Xbox One and Windows PC. Scorn’s director, for example, has stated that the game will be next-gen-only. It seems likely that some of these games will also be released on Xbox One, but we do know that not all of them will be. For example, Avowed and Everwild have been described as Xbox One titles in the past, but that has since chang ed. It’s not yet clear which of these games will be available on the Xbox One as well, which has been a point of contention as well as confusion. ( Paradise Lost and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will also be available on Steam.) This first list of games is exclusive to the Xbox Series X as well as Windows PC, as is typical for Microsoft-published titles. The list below includes all of the Xbox Series X games that we know about so far. We’ll just have to wait and see if Microsoft’s super-casual approach to this next generation pays off.

There’s also a lot we don’t know about the new console’s slate of games, such as which ones will support Smart Delivery (although we’ve noted below in the cases where it’s been announced), and which games will look and feel so stunning on the Xbox Series X that they’ll make it worth the upgrade from Xbox One. There’s still a lot we don’t know about the Xbox Series X, from its release date to its price. Backward compatibility matters a lot to the Microsoft team, and now apparently so does frontward compatibility. Ownership of games with Smart Delivery will be tied to your Microsoft account, and will apply across platforms. Thanks to Microsoft’s new “Smart Delivery” system, if you buy Halo Infinite on the Xbox One, you don’t need to rebuy it on the Series X - you’ll already have it. Unlike the PlayStation 5, which has several exclusive titles, Microsoft will be taking much less of a hard-line approach to the generational switch-over.įor example, Microsoft’s tentpole title Halo Infinite will be released on both the Xbox One and the Xbox Series X. Microsoft’s next-generation console, the Xbox Series X, will launch sometime this holiday season.
